Gordon Andrew Beatty

SHREVEPORT, LA --

Gordon Andrew Beatty, 33, of Shreveport, died Saturday, July 27, 1991 from injuries resulting from a fire at his apartment.

He was born August 22, 1958 in Niskayunna, NY, the son of Mike and Joe Beatty.

He graduated from Oyster River High School in 1976. He was the catcher of the Oyster River baseball team. His team went to the state finals in his senior year.

Upon graduation from high school, he moved to California where he joined the California Conservation Corps.

Two years later, he returned to Durham and became the manager of Young's Donut Shop.

In August of 1979, he moved to Baton Rouge, LA where he worked in the swimming pool business until 1985 when he moved to Shreveport, LA.

He was the construction superintendent for Morehead Pools until the time of his death.

Survivors include: a daughter, Rachel Beatty, of Shreveport; his mother, Joe Fletcher of 5395 Underwood Ave., Baton Rouge, 70805; his father, Mike Beatty of 6490 Royalwood Dr., Apt. , Fort Myers, FL, 33908; his sister, Kim (Beatty) Olsen, 1732 West First St., Owensboro, KY, 42301; and his grandfather, Clifford Berg, 872 Green Circle Dr., Venice, FL, 34285.
