Lewis Warren Newsky

SOUTH BERWICK- Lewis Warren Newsky, 75, of Emery's Bridge Road, died Wednesday, November 25, 2015, after a decade long battle with Alzheimer's. Born October 14, 1940, in Dover, New Hampshire, he was the son of John Lewis and Elizabeth Grace (Warren) Newsky.

Lewis was in the second graduating class of Oyster River High School, having attended Dover High School until ORHS was built. He continued his education at the University of New Hampshire, where he studied Political Science and was part of ROTC.

He followed his childhood dreams of becoming a fireman and police officer, and spent time managing Newsky's Supermarket in Durham before his entrepreneurial spirit led him and his wife, Sharon, to start New Sky Greenhouses. Later he created NH Wholesale Bait, Bay and Ocean Charters, and Durham Point Boarding Kennel. He resided in Durham for over forty years before moving to the family homestead in South Berwick, Maine.

Lewis enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing (his handle was 'flounder-pounder'). He came in second in a national skeet shooting competition. He spoke fondly of the many hunting trips to the north country and Tidewater Farm.
