Lee -- Damon Lee Spencer, 18, of 33 Stepping Stone road, died Wednesday evening June 16, 1982, in a motorcycle-automobile accident on Portsmouth Avenue in Exeter.
Born April 15, 1964, in Peterborough, the son of Leo J. and Shirley E. (LaFrance) Spencer Jr., he was an Oyster River High School student, graduating with the class of 1982. He majored in computer science at the high school and had been accepted at Northeastern University in computer engineering. He was employed as a part-time computer programmer at the Northern Heel Corporation in Dover. He was a junior assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 154 of Durham and had been involved in Scouting for the last ten years. He won the first place for a video tape in the New Hampshire Media Festival this spring. He was a member of the Computer Club of the Oyster River High School for four years. He taught several computer workshops for students and teachers at the Oyster River Middle School, at the Woodman Park School in Dover this past year. The family includes his parents; a brother, Shannon L. Spencer; two sisters, Bonnie L. Spencer and Tammie L. Spencer, all of Lee; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Glinna B. Spencer of Dover; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Donations in his memory may be made to the Damon Lee Spencer Computer Education Fund, in care of Oyster River High School, Durham, 03824. |
