LEE - Richard L. Stevens, 66 of Tuttle Road died unexpectedly on August 18, 2022 at his residence in Lee.
Born May 5, 1956 in Exeter, he was the son of Lloyd F. and Marion (Deveneau) Stevens.
Rick graduated from Oyster River High School, Class of 1974. Rick's unwavering work ethic was learned at an early age on the family farm and followed him through his life.
After high school, Rick worked for Craig's Supply installing laundry equipment. He also worked for Kustra's Auto Body and Cote's Auto Body fixing and painting cars.
He has lovingly restored many trucks over the years. His latest project was a blue 1964 Chevy that won a lot of people's choice awards that he could sometimes be seen driving around town in.
He worked alongside his older brother Randy for 10 years for the town of Lee highway department. In '97, he retired from the town and opened his own company sawing lumber in his own backyard. Many people knew him for his fair and honest business and his company was very successful.
Rick enjoyed spending time with those he loved most. He could often be found sitting in the shade chatting with a friend or his family, fishing with his grandchildren or admiring the views on his property.
His generous and giving personality is one of the things he is most well known for. He would give anything he could to anyone who needed him. His family and close friends meant the world to him.
Survivors include his children, Kristy and her partner Billy of Newmarket, Julie Ricker and her husband Kyle of Barrington, and Joyce Heath and her husband Ben of Strafford; four grandchildren, Keeley, Kolby, Andrew, and Thomas; his siblings, Randy Stevens and his wife Michelle of Lee and David Stevens and his wife Lori of Hancock, ME; many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and great nephews.
