| William Russell Coker
GOFFSTOWN - William R. Coker passed away on Tuesday May 27, 2025.William was born on September 18, 1947, the son of Roland S. (II) and Morna R.(Heath) Coker.
He was a graduate of Oyster River High School (1966), McIntosh Jr. College (1974), New Hampshire College (1977), and George Washington University (1984).
William was predeceased by his wife Linda M. (Johnson) Coker. Two daughters, Melissa A. Boulanger and Robin A. Griffin and one son, Fred W. High (Jr.). He also had 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. William is also survived by two sisters, Donna L. Piper (Philip) and Charlene R. Salois (Ernest), and nieces, nephews, and numerous cousins.
A veteran of the Vietnam War, William served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army Reserve and is entitled to eleven medals/ribbons. William was a professional genealogical researcher and heraldic designer and was President Emeritus of the Strafford County chapter of the New Hampshire Society of genealogists being it's founding president (1976). He also was a hereditary member of the New Hampshire Society of the Cincinnati(1980) and a life long member of the Durham Historic Association/Pisicataqua Pioneers/Veterans of Foreign Wars. He also held membership in the American Legion and the First New Market Militia.
